30 Ways Of Showing Gratitude This November

Happy November! The last couple of weeks gratitude has been on my heart. It might be because it's Thanksgiving month or that waking up everyday there seems to be a tragedy somewhere in the world. (update: I originally wrote this post before the attack in NYC yesterday. Please lift up all those involved in your prayers. Never take your days for granted) Whatever the reason I wanted to do a little something to start getting us in the Thanksgiving spirit as well as maybe get us thinking of some New Year resolutions to adopt in 2018. I had the college girl, the busy 9-5 working women and even a mom on the go in mind when writing this post. Don't let your circumstances keep you from showing and experiencing gratitude this November. If there's a will there's a way, right!?

With that being said I tried to make this list "easy" and made them realistic enough so you could easily fit them in your day.

30 days of gratitude starts now!!!

November 1: Start a gratitude journal and write three things you are thankful for each day. I downloaded the Five Minute Journal app over the Summer and love that it provides you the opportunity to write three things in the morning as well as write three things before bed that you are grateful for from the day.

November 2: Find a positive quote and share it too your social media. Invite those who see it share a quote of their own and invite their followers to do the same.

November 3: Wake up early to make a special breakfast treat for your family, significant other, or roommate.

November 4: Smile to all those you pass today. You never know the impact it could make on a stranger.

November 5: Go for a walk, even if it's only for 10 minutes and admire your surroundings. Be thankful for the ability to get up anytime you want and just walk.

November 6: Start with a grateful attitude this Monday and positively impact someone else's Monday by saying a quick hello to a stranger.

November 7: Give a shoutout to a friend, family member, or favorite blogger on your social media thanking them for the impact they have made on you.

November 8: Don't text, call a friend to catch up.

November 9: Say thank you to the custodians and those who clean up after your mess. Stop and ask how their day is going.

November 10: Leave an encouraging spontaneous note in a random spot for someone to find. Maybe in a library book or a body positivity note in a dressing room.

November 11: It's Veteran's Day. Take some Starbucks, Pizza, Subway or any other food gift cards to your local Military recruiting center. What seems like the smallest gesture in the world compared to what they do, actually means the world to these brave men and women.

November 12: Print off some coloring pages online and leave them at a doctor/dental office table for kids.

November 13: Give a friend or family member a compliment that will make their day.

November 14: While grabbing some lunch, instead of leaving to eat it in your car or sitting at a table on your phone, find someone who is eating alone and sit and eat lunch with them.

November 15: Write an anonymous note to leave for a friend, family member, co-worker, or classmate letting them know what you admire in them.

November 16: Go get coffee with a friend, roommate or co-worker just because.

November 17: Ask a barista, retail worker, or waitress how their day is going. Be genuinely interested and offer encouragement.

November 18: Write yourself a love letter and list all the things you admire about yourself.

November 19: Pack some extra snacks or gift cards with you to give to someone less fortunate.

November 20: Give a compliment to a least three people you meet today.

November 21: Bring some homemade goodies to share with co-workers, classmates, or roommate.

November 22: Offer to take an elderly person or mom with kids grocery cart while you put yours away with it.

November 23: Help to cook and clean Thanksgiving dinner.

November 24: When out Black Friday shopping or getting coffee, offer for someone to go ahead of you in the checkout line.

November 25: Offer to pump gas for someone. Maybe for an elderly person. You are getting gas for your car, might as well help someone out while you are there.

November 26: Schedule time for some self-care today.

November 27: Buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you in Starbucks.

November 28: Whether you run into a police officer today or anytime this month, use the encounter to thank them for all their hard work.

November 29: Write "you're an awesome mom!" on a sticky note and leave it on the baby changing table in a public bathroom, restaurant bathroom, or church bathroom.

November 30: Reread your blessings from the month.

From the bottom of my heart, I hope this makes a lasting impact on you and all your recipients.
